I found this book very frustrating, and am torn in my review. On the one hand, there is a great deal of valuable e-business material in this book. On the other hand, the organization is poor and the editing is abysmal. The overall concept seems to be a stream of consciousness dissemination of the authors experiences. This leads to repetition of material in the book, and makes it harder to return to a concept or technique. My most scathing criticism I reserve for the books editor. I would say they are a thief for taking any compensation for editing this book. I am aware that the overall quality of editing has declined drastically, but this is still no excuse for the sloppiness of this book. It is difficult to go more than a page or two without an editing error. The book has particular problems with articles, tense, spelling, and sentence structure. The author is also fond of weasel words, which dilute the strength of a sentence, and tends to the verbose by introducing words that are simply not needed to convey a point. The author is fond of multiple concepts in a sentence, which makes adequate treatment difficult, and can extend sentences to multi-line monsters. The author’s meaning is occasionally indecipherable.
This having been said, the strength of the detail, however unorganized and poorly presented, carries this book. You can learn a lot from it, but you will work for the knowledge.

This book gives you all the elements on what you need to know to start your own e-business. Even if you will not be actually designing the business yourself, this book gives you knowledge on what to ask your web developers and what to focus on in your business. I also love the bonus features of being able to communicate with the author, Ravi, through his website. If you need some direction and have a great idea for an e-business, pick this book up and start reading. Also, don’t forget about the part where Ravi recommends what services to use for the various parts in creating a website. This can be very helpful in finding the best services for the money!!

As the title of my review states, “No Business Like E-Business” is a great starting point for the would be internet entrepreneur. Where NBLEB is not a step-by-step e-business start-up guide, it will give you a good overview of creating a successful website. I really enjoyed the authors straight forward language. If you are thinking of starting an e-business, bring your ideas, and read this book. It will definitely help focus your online business plan, and help planning your future web presence. Thanks Ravi!

When I found this book, I was actually looking for books strictly about building websites and wordpress blogs. This one caught my eye and I had to research a little before I decided to buy it. I checked out the author’s website and liked what I saw.
I have to say that the book gives a good overview of doing business on the internet. It also includes some finer details to consider when designing and building your website, that many people wouldn’t think of.
As one other reviewer stated, I am sure that much of the information from the book can be found elsewhere. However, it is extremely helpful to have one book that you can keep next to your computer and refer back to on a number of topics. Obviously, it is not the last book you will ever need, but it definately a good one to start with, and I do not regret this purchase!

This book was exactly what I was looking for. I have a personal blog on IT topics [. . . ] that I was interested in optimising through SEO techniques and potentially generating a small revenue stream so that it paid for itself. This book has been a great help.
NBLEB doesn’t tell you how to generate good product/service ideas, you’d need to buy a different book for that, but from the point of having a product/service it will tell you how to do everything you can to make it as successful as possible.
It’s not a slick book but the content is great. It’s worth buying for the content on SEO alone.
